Was there any greater feeling as a child than getting your back to school clothes and starting a fresh new school year? Sure, it was always sad when summer came to an end but you always had wearing your new clothes and seeing your school friends to look forward to. I’ll admit, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in school, but that desire to get new clothes at the beginning of September never really leaves you.

Fall is such an amazing season and fall fashion is the best! We need something to excite us when the weather starts to get chilly and the days get shorter. We know winter isn’t far behind and so we turn to simple pleasures like a beautiful new coat, scarves, boots and the coziest ponchos/wraps to get us through.

When it comes to fall fashion for work, I normally take a visit to Ann Taylor. They always have the best selection and it doesn’t matter if you are looking for a basic wardrobe staple or a statement piece, they do both so well.

To bring you a little fall fashion inspiration, I’ve partnered with Ann Taylor on this post. Their fall campaign encompasses loving what you do and loving what your wear. It’s all about getting dressed for both work and the life we want. When I’m dressing for the day ahead I want something I could wear to a work event and then also repurpose for when I’m going out to dinner or for drinks with my friends. Versatility is super important to me, because I can’t afford to buy alot of clothes anymore. Adulting leaves me spending my funds elsewhere (bills, mortgage, home decor, travel etc.). I need to get the most out of the clothes that I have in my wardrobe.

You have to check out the fall campaign and video HERE. It gave me so many ideas on how to style the clothes I got and new ideas for what to wear to work. You also do not want to miss out on this black and white checked jacket. It is seriously to die for. I also have my eye on this INCREDIBLY cozy poncho!

The below grey coat and pink top are from Ann Taylor. I love this top with work pants or a skirt for day time and then dressed down with jeans on the weekend. I love the details on the sleeve and the slight flare. I’ll also be living in this grey coat. The fabric is really comfy and I love how classic the style is. It will never go out of style.

I picked this statement cheetah print dress from Ann Taylor. I love how cute and flirty it feels with the flowy fabric and the pockets. I’ll definitely be wearing this to some upcoming work events. I can also already envision so many ways to wear this dress – on it’s own during warmer weather or with tights for cooler days, with a pink scarf to add a touch of colour or with a jean jacket to dress it down. Like I said, I’m always looking for versatile items that can work a variety of different ways in my wardrobe.

This hot pink coat I got years ago at Ann Taylor and although I’ve worn it a ton it still feels brand new. We also came across the most beautiful dahlia garden when we were shooting. There’s just something about fall florals that makes me so happy.
