Another year of the Toronto International Film Festival has come and gone and it seems like each year just gets better and better. TIFF has become home to the biggest celebrities in the world and a ton of incredible movies. It’s also the week where Toronto really comes alive and if you had a chance to see any movies or attend any parties, it really is the best time of year to live in Toronto.
I’ve listed some of this year’s highlights below and would love to hear about any of your TIFF experiences below!
The Ladies:
There were definitely many fashion highlights on this year’s red carpets and many beauty looks I’ll be trying to recreate. Stay tuned for beauty highlights coming later in the week! Which look was your favourite?
The Fellas:
Which of these leading men were you most excited to see at TIFF this year? We love the way newcomer Ansel Elgort mixed things up with a coloured blazer and patterned shirt. Which of these looks do you like the best?
The S.W.A.G.:
SWAG lounges are a big trend during TIFF and we had the chance to visit the Essentials Lounge with EGPR. Brands included Calvin Klein Underwear, Balzac’s Coffee, Rockport, Micro-Pedi (my new must-have product), Schwarzkopf, SkinCeuticals, the adorable tarte Cosmetics, The Good Press (my favourite healthy juice in the world), and Winks lashes & eyebrow bar.
The Movies:
I only made it to one movie this year, but there are so many I am dying to see! I saw 99 Homes with Andrew Garfield, Michael Shannon and Laura Dern. The movie is an intense drama surrounding the US financial crash and housing-market meltdown and the dirty business surrounding foreclosure on homes. It was a great movie and if you’ve never attended a TIFF movie before you really should make a point of seeing at least one each year. If you attend the red carpet screening, the actors come out before the film to introduce the film, sit in the audience to watch the film and then take part in a Q&A following the film. You also watch the film in a very large theatre like Princess of Wales or Roy Thompson Hall. It is a really exciting experience and tickets aren’t as hard to get as you would think.
What are the movies you are most looking forward to seeing from this year’s TIFF? I can’t wait for Foxcatcher (Channing Tatum + Steve Carrell), People’es Choice Award Winner The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, and This Is Where I Leave You with an a-list cast listing a mile long.
