Essie Summer 2014 Collection

Summer arrives this week and it’s the perfect time for bright, juicy nail shades. If our toes are going to be in the sand, grass or water, you can bet their going to painted a vibrant shade and the new Essie 2014 summer collection is helping us do just that. We recently reviewed the new lineup and if you’re looking for bold and bright, this is a great collection to check out.

“Urban Jungle” is described as an irresistible alabaster orchid, “”Fierce, no Fear” an intense cocoa mahogany, “Roarrrrange” is an unstoppable, bold orange, “Strut Your Stuff” is a compelling cobalt aqua, “Ruffles & Feathers” is a powerful peacock teal, and “Haute in the Heat” is an unforgettable hot raspberry.

“Haute in the Heat” is our personal favourite and we also love the mix of the off-white and chocolate brown. The green, blue and orange are cute if you’re looking to shake things up. What do you think? Which shade do you have your eye on?

Ford Mustang by OPI Collection

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Ford Mustang vehicles and to celebrate, OPI is launching the Ford Mustang by OPI collection. The collection features six new limited edition nail lacquers, including a palette of red, gold, black, pink, white and aqua. The colours are designed to evoke passion, adventure and excitement and all bottle lids will be wrapped with the Ford Mustang logo.

We like the idea of giving our nails the type of shiny, luxurious paint job reserved for cars. These shades include some of the most popular car colours we see on the road every day and also some bold hues that are great for summer.

If our boyfriends were to ever get excited about nail polish, this may just be it… We love the solid white and black shades best and the liquid gold colour has a really pretty finish. Plus, we’ve been coveting more gold nail polish shades to add to our collection. The Ford Mustang lineup will be available this July. Are any of these shades on your must-try list?

New Nicole by OPI Roughles Spring 2014 Collection

Here at Pink the Town we’re officially turning our attention to spring beauty. It may only be February, but now that Valentine’s Day is over we’re all about spring.

Helping us get in the spring mood is Nicole by OPI’s latest collection: Roughles. Pronounced ruffles, the new lineup is all about texture and pastels, featuring four nail lacquers in purple (I’m Stucco On You), pink (Rock The Look), turquoise (On What Grounds?) and yellow (Sand In My Shoe).

We’re kindof digging this collection. Not only are we a HUGE fan of anything pastel, but no topcoat is required to get the full effect of the polishes, which makes for easy applications. It’s actually recommended that you don’t use a topcoat.
