Springtime Bows

If something has a bow on it, I’m about 99% more likely to buy it. They are just too cute to resist. It was hard to pass by this hat without immediately needing to purchase it. It’s just the most perfect hat for summer days spent in the park, or on my terrace or at the beach. I’ll be finding any excuse to wear it this summer.

Also, I’m absolutely obsessed with shirt dresses this season. I love the way they fit almost any occasion. They are one of the easiest items to dress up or dress down. Pair with a flat sandal, a hat and a cross body bag and you’ve got a casual weekend look. Pair with a statement necklace, heels and a clutch and you’ve got the perfect evening look. They are so versatile and comfy. I have one in pink and then recently got this one in blue. I love the way it dips down at the back, giving it that extra something special. The tie around the waist is nice and thick so you can create different looks with it. Tie it in the back, or to the side or at the front. You can do a pretty bow or just knot it and leave it hanging down. I love the effortlessness of this dress.

Laura Grand Opening Shopping Party at Sherway Gardens

Can we talk about the below dress? I’m in love! I recently found it at the new Laura store at Sherway Gardens. It may look like a 2 piece, but it’s actually a 1 piece. It’s making me really excited for all of the special occasions and weddings I have coming up over the next couple of months. I love having an excuse to get dressed up.

If you’re also on the hunt for something to wear to all of your special occasions this summer, you’re going to want to join me tomorrow night as I help host the Grand Opening Shopping Party of the new Laura store at Sherway Gardens Mall. The event is tomorrow evening (May 26th 5pm – 9pm) and I’ll be there, along with a bunch of other fabulous Toronto bloggers. You know I can’t resist a shopping party! You can receive 20% off your purchase and enjoy some bubbly and some bites while you shop. Plus, a style presentation by the lovely Liv Judd will begin at 7pm.

The new Laura store features their new “Triple Concept”, three separate sections of the store dedicated to different body types. Whether you’re considered “petite”, “regular” or “plus” size in the retail world, Laura has a clothing section that will be suited to you.

I’ll be honest, in the past I’ve tended to only think “Laura” when it came to weddings or special occasions but I’ve discovered that they also have a great selection of casual and work-wear items as well. They really have a great, well-rounded selection. I also can’t get over how beautiful this dress is below. I’ll definitely have to wear it to an upcoming wedding this summer.

Floral Pants

My wardrobe is in full blown spring mode even if the weather isn’t. I’ve made the executive decision to put away all of winter clothes even though there’s still a foot of snow outside. I’ve started rocking my pastels and bright colours, my rain boots instead of my snow boots and anything with a floral print.

Check out these new floral print pants below. There’s just something about them that makes me really happy. Plus, they are a really soft and flowy material so they feel as comfortable as wearing pajamas. I’m also loving this pink trench coat. It really is the perfect trench and I love the removable hood. This will definitely be my spring uniform this year.

Camel Coat

I had a goal of finding two specific fashion items this fall. One was a camel coat and the other was a baby blue turtle neck sweater. I’ve been on the hunt for a camel coat or cape for a while now and haven’t been able to find one that I loved. I then came across the below coat from Zara (on sale no less) and immediately jumped all over it.

This year, I became an instant fan of the store Ever New when it arrived in Canada. It’s an Australia-based company and the Australians really know a thing or two about classy and chic style. The store is a mix of beautiful classics and chic stand out pieces. I found this baby blue turtle neck sweater there and it’s become one of my favourite sweaters this winter.

Are there any items you scored this season that you had been on the hunt for? Next on my list is a cape, since I opted for the camel coat. I still don’t have one in my wardrobe and I really love the look of them. Adding it to the wish list!
