Caudalie Moisturizers & Contest!

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for pretty packaging when it comes to my beauty products. Combine pretty packaging with natural ingredients and I’m definitely sold. When the newest Caudalie VINOSOURCE moisturizers landed on my doorstep, I knew I had to do something special with them. Housed in beautiful pink packaging, the 4 new moisturizers create an ombre effect when lined up on my vanity. There’s a moisturizer in this lineup for all of your needs. An Intense Moisture Rescue Moisturizer to use in the winter months when your skin is at it’s driest, a cool moisturizing sorbet for the summer months when you’re looking for something a little lighter, a mattifier for when your t-zone is oily, and a recovery cream for those times when your skin is looking a little red. It really is like a little moisturizer army that will have me covered all year long.

I fell in love with the famous Caudalie Beauty Elixir a long time ago. This facial mist has a cult following for a reason. It smells delicious and I love the way it makes my skin feel. The smell reminds me of a visit to the spa. I was so excited to learn that they have now introduced a limited-edition Organic Grape Water spray that gives the elixir a run for it’s money. I love facial sprays. I apply them in the morning straight out of the shower for the moisturizing benefits, again to set my makeup, again when I get home from a long day at work to refresh my face and then again at night before bed. They’re also great to take on the go in your purse to refresh skin during the day or to keep at your desk for when you start feeling sleepy or sluggish at work. 

Grape Water is a favourite amongst makeup artists and celebrities because it hydrates and acts as an anti-inflammatory. It soothes rosacea, reduces redness and calms rashes. Lips & Scents

Valentine’s Day is one of my favourite days of the year (for obvious pink reasons) and what better way to prep for VDay than being surrounded by makeup and perfume?!

This past Valentine’s Day weekend I have the pleasure of attending the Lips & Scents event at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique at the Toronto Eaton Centre. You may have seen my posts on social media of the amazing flower wall from the event. Any event that involves a pink flower wall is an event I want to be at.

The event started with one of the lovely Shoppers Drug Mart makeup artists teaching me how to create an Ombre lip. Back in high school I was the lip liner queen, so this trend really brings me back. Thankfully the look now has a modern twist with a more subtle ombre effect, versus the heavy lip liner look of the 90’s. This time around it’s all about the blending and subtle shade differences.

Next, it was on to the scent station to find my signature VDay scent, which ended up being the new Chloe Love Story fragrance. It’s so delicious and has now replaced my classic Chloe perfume as my new everyday scent.

After indulging in macarons and italian soda, it was onto the floral wall with my girls Kaylee from The Blondielocks and Anum from SummerxSkin to capture some pics of our new Ombre look.

I picked up a couple of items to create the ombre lip look at home. Check them out below and you can check out more Lips & Scents details HERE.

Step 1: Make sure lips are nice and hydrated. Apply a lip scrub or let Vaseline sit on lips for a couple of minutes and then brush lips gently with a toothbrush

 

Step 2: Line lips with Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Intense Hibiscus

 

Step 3: Apply Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Hot Pink Vinyl to outer area of lip leaving small section in middle of lips uncovered

 

Step 4: Dab a small amount of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Rosa to center of lips only

 

Step 5: Blend lips using lip brush or apply a clear gloss to finish the look

 

Step 6: Voila!

Dior Spring 2016 Makeup

I always look forward to the launch of the new Dior spring collection! It’s always one of my favourite collections of the whole year. This year’s launch does not disappoint. Beautiful pink shades, floral textures, luminous powders, I love it all!

The collection is called Growing Gardens, which totally describes the collection perfectly. My favourite new product is the illuminating powder. It comes housed in a beautiful compact, and I love the luminous effect it creates on the top of the cheek bones. Not glittery and not too light. It creates a perfect, subtle strobing effect and reflects light beautifully. I also love the two contouring compacts. They work great for sculpting cheeks, adding bronzer and blush. 

I’m also loving this new Dior Capture Totale cream. I’ve actually never tried Dior skincare products before, so I was excited to try it. The cream boasts to “unify your skintone from its deepest layers to its surface, leaving skin perfectly tautened and toned while all visible signs of aging – wrinkles, loss of firmness and radiance, and uneven skin tone – are corrected.” I’ve been using it at night and love the cooling effect of the cream. It feels really silky and the smell is delicious. 

This is also my first time testing out Dior foundation. I tried the Diorskin ForeverPerfect Makeup, Everlasting Wear, Pore-Refining Effect with SPF 35 + Shine Control in shade 101. It has great coverage and definitely evened out my skintone. I would recommend trying it if you are in the market for a new foundation.
