If you saw my post about a month or two ago, you know that I’ve been testing out the new Philips SatinShave Prestige Wet & Dry Electric Shaver. I was a little skeptical at first, because I’ve never used an electric shaver before. But, it’s so stinkin’ cute I was willing to give it a spin.

 

I have to admit, I absolutely love it! Here are my top reasons why:

CONVENIENT TO USE:

I like the fact that I can take it anywhere with me and I don’t need water or shaving cream to use it. When I use it on my dry skin it leaves no irritation. This gives me the freedom to do my shaving wherever/whenever I want. Have you ever had that embarrassing moment when you shave in your shower or using the light in your bathroom and the second you get outside in the natural light you notice all of the spots you missed shaving? I hate that! I like that I can now shave right next to a window near natural light to ensure I’m not missing any spots. Also, maneuvering around your ankle or knee is a breeze. I always get nervous with a real razor when I’m shaving around those delicate areas. I’ve nicked myself so many times. I like that this electric shaver is designed to not cut or irritate your skin. Major bonus! The shaver features soft-touch comfort cusions, rounded pearl tip trimmers and safety bars to protect the skin from irritation. The slim “S” shape design handle also allows for maximum control and precise movements. 

 

PRETTY DESIGN:

I love that the shaver is so pretty it can be displayed on my vanity at all times and it looks so cute. I also love the little pink details. The shaver comes with a waterproof bag, bikini trimmer head, comb, efficiency cap, travel cap, charger and a holder.

COST SAVINGS:

If you haven’t noticed, razors are REALLY expensive! I like the idea that I can use this shaver over and over again without having to spend a fortune on disposables and razor replacements. For a one time payment of under $100 ($89.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart), I’ll have this shaver for a very very long time.

 

OVERALL: Overall I would recommend this shaver to anyone annoyed with how expensive razors are or anyone who hates razor burn. I’ve tested it out for a few months now and I’ve read so many positive reviews online. I’m definitely not the only one who’s in love with this product.

Are the results as smooth as a regular razor? Not exactly. I’d say it’s about 98%. That ultra smooth feeling you get with a razor stems from the fact that they basically take off a layer of skin and that’s where that super smooth feeling comes from. It can be very drying and irritating for your skin. But, if you use the electric shaver and come at the hair from a variety of angles you’ll get a really close shave. I also like using some hair conditioner in replace of shaving cream because it allows for a closer shave and I find it more moisturizing. My favourite part of this electric shaver is definitely being able to shave on my way out the door on dry skin when I’m in a rush. No more razor burn and no more missed spots!

J.Crew dropped off this really cute delivery below.  It included a J.Crew cooler, Strawberry & Lime cider drinks, personalized drink cozies and their fall catalogue. I’m obsessed with J.Crew’s fall collection because it includes SO MUCH PINK!

 

I instantly fell in love with the below Cheekathon collection from Benefit Cosmetics. It’s a mix of beautiful blushes and bronzers. You can mix and match to create the cutest cheek combinations. I always use the Hoola bronzer and the Dandelion blush on a daily and I sometimes I like to mix it up by blending them with some of these other shades to create different effects. The Rockateur makes a great highlighter and the Coralista mixes really well with the bronzers. 

 

Mark. brand always comes out with the cutest packages and I love this Maui Bliss collection below. The bronzer is amazing and I love this eye palette.

 

I didn’t know about NEST fragrances until they landed on my doorstop and now I’m obsessed. This Nest Citrine scent below smells so lemony fresh. I love to spray it on the moment I get out of the shower because it keeps that fresh “out of the shower” scent all day. I also love using it as a house spray (even though it’s not) because it just smells so fresh and so clean, clean. The Roller Ball is great to throw in your purse or gym bag as well. 

 

This Benefit eye brow kit has changed everything I ever thought I knew about my eyebrows. Whatever your eyebrow issue is (and we all have them) Benefit has a product that can fix it.

The Goof Proof Pencil is great for filling in larger gaps and the Precisely, My Brow Pencil is so small that if you doing it in tiny whispy strokes it looks like real hair.

This little baby is one of my favs. I’ve used it every single day without fail since I got my hands on it. It shapes, defines, fills in and adds colour all at the same time. I love it.

I swear by this product. The ballet slipper colour is subtle and adds the perfect amount of highlighter when applied on the brow bone just below the brow without adding shimmer. It looks so natural when blended in with your finger that your eyes appear wider and more awake.

The past month has been all about lipstick! It seems like every day there’s a new lip collection landing on my doorstep. Maybe it’s the influence of the Kylie Jenner lip kits or maybe its influence from the Fall 2016 runway shows, but lipstick is definitely having the biggest moment in makeup right now. It’s not just any lipstick we’re talking about, it’s bold, bright and anything but basic. Anything goes, from bright purple to black. I plan to finally break out my pink lipstick rut and be a little adventurous with my lip colours this fall.

Let’s start with this incredible lineup of new NYX lip products below. I can’t get over the range of colours. I seriously thought these must be eye products when I first opened them, because some of the colours are so extreme. But, sure enough they are for your lips. There’s seriously a colour for everyone. NYX Liquid Suede & Cosmic Metals go on like a gloss, but the outcome feels and looks like lipstick. The colour is very saturated and lasts a long time. Liquid Suede in Pink Lust is my favourite!

I love beauty products that work double or triple duty. The new BITE  The Multistick does just that and can be applied to lips, cheeks and eyes. I love the idea of throwing just one of these into my purse instead of having to tote around 3 different products. They come in 18 different shades and create a great monochromatic makeup look. The Multistick apples like a cream and wears like a powder. There’s 35% powder in each bullet and they are also silicon-free.

Dior lipsticks are always my fall staple. I love the rich colours in these Rouge Dior Lipsticks below.  The colours range from iconic reds to vibrant corals, alluring pinks, romantic rosewoods and bold mattes. The lipsticks have a satin-to-matte highly pigmented finish. They are designed for 16 hours of longwear lip colour without streaking or drying out lips.

I love the fun vibe of these new Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks by Katy Perry for Covergirl. The packaging makes me happy and the colours are just as cute. My favourite shade is “Pink Paws”. I’ve had it on repeat this summer. It’s such a perfect shade of pink.

BITE Beauty is a Toronto based brand that really knows a thing or two about lip products. These lip goodies from BITE below are everything you need to keep your lips in great condition all year round. Especially now that the colder weather is just around the corner, it won’t be long now until we’re all battling chapped lips. BITE refers to these as the 6 essentials. They include the Opal Lip Gloss, Amuse Bouche lipstick, line and define primer, matte creme lip crayon, high-pigment pencil and an agave lip mask.

I’m most excited about the agave lip mask to keep lips hydrated during the winter months. If I don’t do a lip treatment I find my lips get really chapped and my lipstick goes on in clumps. The lip mask has a bit of an exfoliant to help remove any dead skin cells and keep lips smooth.

 

Here are some of the colours that the BITE Amuse Bouche lipstick comes in. There’s 34 shades to choose from and the lipsticks feature natural ingredients with 12 nourishing oils.  The colours are bold and rich. I’m definitely partial to the Cotton Candy shade.

 

 

Smashbox lip products are my go-to whenever I visit Sephora. When the below collection landed on my doorstep I went a little crazy. These pretties are the new Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipsticks. They go on like a dream and the colours are perfect for fall. The formula is long-wear (up to 8 hours), water-resistant and infused with a lip-smoothing Primer Oil complex. There’s 20 shades to choose from including “BAWSE”, the fiery red shade that was made in collaboration with social media star Lilly Singh.

Eos is launching a new shimmer collection of their popular circular lipchaps and they sent along this glittery package below. I love the design of the glosses below and now they add a little shine to your lips. Great to use over lipstick to keep lips moisturized. Also, wouldn’t these make a cute stocking stuffer?

I can’t believe we are nearing September already! Every year it seems like summer goes by faster and faster. I’m making sure to enjoy every beautiful, warm and sunny moment that we have left of it. Soaking up as much sun as possible and taking advantage of every warm patio night. I’m also planning as many outdoor excursions and activities as I can. For everything I have planned this summer, I love finding that special fragrance that seems to capture the mood & moment perfectly. Something sweet and sultry for date night, something fun for daytime adventures, and something beachy for those days spent lounging by the pool or lake.

I’ve rounded up the fragrances below that have captured my heart this summer.

 

PERFECT FOR DAYTIME ADVERTURES:

The first is the newest Prada Candy Kiss fragrance. Think cotton candy with an orange blossom twist. It reminds me of childhood summer’s spent visiting Canada’s Wonderland, the CNE and chasing ice cream trucks. This is my favourite scent from the Prada Candy lineup. Everyone that smells it instantly falls in love. I’ve sprayed it when my friends are over and everyone immediately has to go out and buy it. It has that effect.

 

PERFECT FOR A DAY AT THE BEACH:

The second is a summer classic, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess. It’s like summer in a bottle. The mix of coconut and orange makes it one of my favourite scents of all time. I’m such a sucker for coconut scents. This scent comes back every spring/summer and I always have to pick up a bottle. It doesn’t feel like summer without it. The notes that stick out to me are coconut milk, pulpy orange, juicy mandarin, lemon, jasmine, magnolia petals and lavender. It’s such a delicious mix.

 

 

PERFECT FOR DATE NIGHT:

I recently discovered NEST fragrances at a recent trip to Saks and I fell in love with this Citrone scent. The dewy softness makes this a great pick for date night. Notes of lemon blossom, lotus flower, freesia, dew drop accord and precious wood make it smell bright, refreshing and sparkling. Plus, the bottle looks beautiful on a vanity.

 

 

PERFECT FOR EVERYDAY:

Zara FRUITY reminds me exactly of a perfume that I am obsessed with, but at 1/4 of the price. For anyone who likes to have a cheaper fragrance on hand that they can spray as much as they want throughout the day, this is a good one. Top note is grapefruit, middle note is rose and base notes are amber, vanilla and sandalwood.
