Prince Edward County Travel Diary

I’ve been to Prince Edward County a few times now and every time I’ve had such an amazing time! I’m now trying to make it a yearly trip. I wanted to put together a bit of a travel diary in case any of you plan on going for the first time – It’s always nice to have some recommendations! I highly recommend this as an amazing place for a girls weekend getaway – or for anyone that loves wine. Will give you the details of our trip below and all of the places you MUST check out if you are in PEC. Happy Travels!

We left Friday from Toronto around 1:00pm. I recommend leaving before 5pm if you can to avoid the crazy traffic! Our first stop was Drake Devonshire. We walked around the little town/shops near the Drake and went across to the new Drake Motor Inn, which is super cute. There’s also a brewery right beside the Motor Inn if you want to pop in for a drink before dinner. We then had dinner at Drake Devonshire and spent the evening having cocktails on the beautiful patio on the water. They have hanging lights and give you big cozy blankets to keep you warm when the sun goes down – it’s perfection! Also, the cocktails are DELICIOUS. Definitely make dinner reservations far in advance though because it books up quickly on weekends throughout the summer. They also have a great brunch!

You have to see the straps on this pink dress that I’m wearing in the above pics. It’s the cutest! I’m wearing a size S/M.

On Saturday, we woke up and went to Vic Cafe in Picton for breakfast. This is my favourite breakfast in PEC. They had my heart at tater tots! They also moved and newly renovated – it is all kinds of Insta-worthy now. You will want to take photos of everything from the booths to the ceiling to the adorable wallpaper and even the bathrooms! They have adorable with PINK TOILETS!! I have major toilet envy, which I didn’t know was a thing. Where can I find these vintage-looking toilets? Seriously.

This pink top is linked HERE. I’m wearing a size S. I am also so in love with this pearl hair clip linked HERE. You can use my code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80!

After breakfast, we drove to Closson Road Cycles to pick up our bikes. Be sure to rent your bikes in advance. The family that owns Closson Road Cycles is so incredibly lovely! You will be in good hands. I never really get a chance to ride bikes with living in Toronto – I find it way too scary, so I really enjoy riding bikes to all of the wineries. It’s my favourite part of the whole trip. It was lilac season when we were there and the amount of lilacs and the delicious perfumed smells coming from the massive bunches of lilac trees was seriously incredible.

Closson Road is perfect for biking because it’s a very short trip between each winery and there’s about 5-7 wineries close by to pop into. There’s also the alpaca farm which is the CUTEST and the lavender field. I have an obsession with lavender so I love popping in here.

This ADORABLE polka-dot tank is linked HERE (I’m wearing a size S) and it’s only $6! Use code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80!

Definitely stop by The Grange winery for a picnic out back. They pack you a little picnic basket fill of wine, cheese, pickles, bread and popcorn. It’s another one of the highlights for me – they have picnic tables out back amongst all of the chickens running around which are quite entertaining.

I would then recommend either Norman Hardie or County Cider Company for wood fire pizza. County Cider has Gluten Free pizza for all of my fellow Celiacs 🙂

There’s a small group of great hotels in PEC and so many amazing Air BNB’s. We stayed in a cottage on the water this time and it was so lovely. We had fires every night and took advantage of the DVD player with so many old movies to watch at night. It was perfection.

Sunday morning we ate breakfast the Picton Harbour Inn and walked around to the shops a bit and down by the water.

This white dress is so cute and serious nautical vibes. Linked HERE. I love it. I’m wearing a size M – it’s a little snug around the top, I could prob have done a L.

And of course, no trip to PEC is complete without a trip to the June Motel! Whether you stay there or just pop in for some Rosé, it’s a must!

This dress has quickly become one of the most favourite dress I have ever worn. It’s so flattering and the details of the bow straps with the tassels is so stinkin’ cute. Also, the colours are amazing. I am so in love! Dress linked HERE. I’m wearing a size M.

I also can’t say enough about this new straw bag from Poppy & Peonies. Perfect for carrying around in the summer or using as a beach bag! It’s seriously perfection. The inside liner is pink and the pink tassel on the front is so pretty.

Have to share this little Dalmatian print dress. I’ve been searching for a Dalmatian print dress or top for so long now and finally got this one! I love it so much, especially with a cute little jean jacket thrown over it. It works for so many occasions, dressed up or dressed down. Link to dress HERE. I’m wearing a size M. Use code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80! This little hot pink bag is Poppy & Peonies. Similar bag HERE.

Other places to visit in the County, not pictured above:

Sand Banks Beach – There’s actually a nice, big beach in PEC at Sand Banks National Post and if the weather it’s nice it’s definitely worth a visit!

Lake on the Mountain – A really pretty view to stop for lunch

Sailing – there are some boat companies in PEC that will take you out sailing. It’s so beautiful on the water there, I highly recommend if you like to be out on the water!

Soap & Glory Very Pink Giveaway!

Soap & Glory has been one of favourite brands for a long time. I fell in love with their packaging and cheeky branding right off the bat and after many years of using the products they’ve become part of my regular routine. I love the signature scent of the products – it’s very light, fresh and clean smelling. The scent is described as a fruity-floral with notes of rose, peach, strawberries, bergamot and a twist of citrus. Mmm!!!

I get so excited when I get the chance to partner with my favourite brands and give one lucky reader the chance to win a lineup of pretty pink products!

The brand recently sent over the below package, which included come of their classics and some pink cotton candy. Very fitting!

It was the package above that inspired this giveaway! It was too cute not to share. One lucky winner will take home the signature Original Pink collection from Soap & Glory, which includes:

  • Original Pink Bath Bomb
  • Clean On Me Body Wash
  • Scrub Of Your Life Body Scrub
  • Flake Away Body Scrub
  • Righteous Butter Body Butter
  • Hand Food Hand Cream
  • Heel Genius Foot Cream

Basically everything you need to be summer-ready from head-to-toe. Now that the weather has finally warmed up! I always apply the Genius Foot Cream every night before bed and it’s such a game changer for my feet. The scrub works beautifully before applying your self tanner (something I’ve been doing alot of lately now that I’m getting out the sun dresses and shorts). The Body Wash and Body Butter work extremely well when used together in conjunction with one another. I always feel baby-soft and smell delicious after using this combination. And finally, the hand cream is amazing for at-home manicures or to throw in your purse to apply on-the-go. I also used the bath bomb to create the pink bath below. The camera wasn’t able to capture it, but the bath bomb creates a luminous sparkle and leaves your skin looking radiant. Also, who doesn’t love a pink bath?

Pink Wall Love

If I could have it my way, we’d have alot more pink buildings in Toronto. The pinks and pastels are few and far between in this city, so you really have to hunt around for photo-worthy backdrops. Alas, Crown Flora understands our pain and is the best hot pink painted wall in the city. The plants are amazing and snapping a few photos in front of the wall on the way out makes it a fun weekend outing in the city.

This dress is seriously the epitome of spring. I love it so much. The weather is refusing to warm up here in Toronto, so it’s great that it fully covers your legs and sleeves. It’s nice to still be able to wear spring-looking items, even when the weather is still absolute crap! Really hoping it warms up soon so that I can transition out of my winter wardrobe. I’ve never been this over sweaters and coats in my life!!!

I’ve also been dying to talk about this Poppy & Peonies bag! It’s seriously one of my most favourite bags that I’ve ever owned. It is THE perfect pink shade that is really neutral so it still goes with just about any outfit. However, if you do come across an outfit where this shade of pink isn’t a fit it’s REVERSIBLE and there’s also actually another smaller rose gold metallic bag that comes inside of this one! It’s like getting four bags in one because the smaller bag comes with a small strap if you are going out somewhere at night, or a cross body strap if you are running around on the weekend. It’s so versatile and the colours are so beautiful! If you are investing in a new tote, I would highly recommend!

Since the weather refuses to warm up, I’m relying on cute sweaters to get me through the rest of this winter (even though it’s supposed to be spring…). This sweater is so stinkin’ cute I can’t get over it! It’s also super soft. The little heart-shaped elbow patches are so adorable!! It almost makes me okay with this weather so that I get to wear it a little longer…. almost!

Take 10 For Happy Hour

Ever since getting back from vacation I’ve been trying to keep the happy hour vibes alive. It’s always hard getting back to reality and this week I’m excited to share a delicious cocktail recipe that you can use for your next happy hour!

Life can get so busy and sometimes the simple things (like the joy of happy hour with your girlfriends) can get pushed aside. Keeping in touch with family and girlfriends can be tricky – especially friends that have kids! To help, I’ve partnered with SunRype Slim on a fun #Take10 challenge. The goal is to treat yourself to a #Take10 moment – something that will bring you joy and make you happy. I’ve chosen a 10 minute “happy hour” over the phone for some good old fashioned girl chat and some delicious cocktails. This new Pink Grapefruit flavour is so delicious and only 10 calories per serving + no aspartame and no artificial flavours or colours! Pink grapefruit has been one of my favourite flavours for so long and not just because it’s pink 🙂

For my #Take10 moment I gave one of my girlfriends from high school a call that lives in my hometown and since I now live in Toronto, it can be tricky to get together. It was nice to catch up on recent vacations and what’s new with her kids. We both loved the flavour of the cocktail and it was nice to have a moment where we could both relax and have some “me time”.

Your #Take10 mission: Plan a date/time with a friend you haven’t seen in a while. Share a cocktail recipe and then ring up your favourite girlfriend on the phone (like the good old days) or meet over Facetime as you sip on something delicious. Be sure to check out my cocktail recipe below!
