Christmas Decor 2019

Christmas is my favourite time of the year and a big part of that is the fun I have decorating for the holidays. Since we are living in a new house, the decorations we were using from our condo days just weren’t cutting it anymore. This year, I decided on all new decorations and I am loving how it all turned out!

I found everything I needed at Bed Bath & Beyond. They have an incredible selection!  Including all of the details for you below.

I knew I wanted to do something special with the fireplace and dreamed of doing a garland. I love how it looks! I also knew I wanted to do flocked everything because I like the look of the added snow/white to all of the greenery. I think it makes it look chic and even more Christmas-ey!

Here is a link to the pre-lit garland, 2 wreaths and my Christmas tree. I also got these beautiful silver shatterproof Christmas ornaments! I’m also loving the two adorable mini trees I got to match my big tree!

The next area I wanted to focus on was the bar. Especially if you are planning on doing some entertaining around the holidays and throughout the rest of the year. A beautiful bar display or bar cart is such a great focal point. This Top Shelf 6-Piece Bar Tool Set looks amazing and is so heavy! It feels like great quality and I love the matching Top Shelf Stainless Steel Cocktail Shaker. I gifted my husband the Godinger Dublin Crystal Decanter because he’s been really wanting a fancy whiskey decanter. This one looks incredible on the bar cabinet! It looks and feels really expensive (but the price was right!). To keep the display looking festive, I added this stunning Reed & Barton North Pole Bound Snowglobe. I have a bit of a snowglobe obsession and have them for every occasion. The details on this one is so beautiful!

These pink glasses are everything! They are really thick/heavy glass so they feel/look like really great quality. Can’t wait to make up some Christmas day mimosa’s in these babies!

And of course I had to fill under the tree with a couple of gifts from me to me J Bed Bath & Beyond has amazing gift ideas! I’ve been dying for a massager for years because I have chronic neck pain and I finally pulled the trigger on this amazing one from Bed Bath & Beyond – The HoMedics Shiatsu Deluxe Neck and Shoulder Massager. It has changed my world. I don’t know how I was living without this thing! It heats up and the fact that you can hold the straps on each side make you able to get into those little neck kinks and work out all of the knots. It’s a life-saver! If you have neck pain, do yourself a favour and gift yourself this year. You will not regret it! The other gift from me to me was a Cool Mist Humidifier. I have to sleep with background fan noise and had got into a bad habit of turning on our master bathroom fan – which was probably sucking the moisture out of the air. So now I have opted for a Cool Mist Humidifier which makes noise and also adds moisture to the air. It’s supposed to be really good for your skin! I’m loving it!

Room Reveal: Master Bedroom

It’s been so fun to finally put together our master bedroom to the point where it now feels like a complete room. I love the way it turned out – feels like our little sanctuary!

There are a couple of key items that every master bedroom needs and I am so excited to have Bed Bath & Beyond as a partner for this post. They really do have it all to create the perfect master bedroom! I’m going to include my key products, tips and tricks below as well as links to all of the items at the bottom of this post.

GOOD BEDDING

In my opinion, the most important part of any master bedroom is good bedding.  There’s a reason everyone says to invest in your bed and your bedding – and it’s because that’s where we spend most of our lives. Also, setting yourself up for a good sleep every night is so important. Premium bedding is essential for these reasons. This duvet cover has been life changing. This is the best bedding I have ever owned and it feels like I’m in a luxury hotel bed every night. The key to good bedding is to invest in good quality sheets and a duvet that feels equal parts soft and also cold at the same time. Noone wants to feel too hot when they are sleeping, so the cold part is super important too. My other trick is to buy a duvet insert that is one size bigger than your duvet cover. We have a King duvet cover and a Caifornia King duvet insert. It’s a total game-changer. Gone are the days when the insert has moved to one side of the cover and someone is left without any! The duvet cover will feel full and super fluffy at all times and it’s amazing. Nothing is worse than a flat duvet.

CALMING ART

I love having calming art in the bedroom – something that puts you at ease and makes you feel at peace. You could go with family photos that bring back nice mem0ries, the ocean/water, or I personally love these phases of the moon prints. The lack of colour make it so that they will still go if we ever change up the bedroom and they stick with the theme of nighttime which is cute.

CUTE THROW PILLOWS

I’m obsessed with throw pillows because I think they help pull the room together. It’s also something easy that you can switch up whenever you want to give your bedroom a new look/feel. You can change them up from season to season or for the holidays – it’s a great way to add in some personality. I’ve had my eye on these banana leaf print throws ever since we got the navy headboard. I love the way they look together!

PLANTS

My theory on plants is the more the merrier. Not only do they add oxygen and purify the air, but they help fill in space and look really nice. You can find beautiful plant holders or even have them hanging from the ceiling. There’s so many options. Just make sure you have them near the windows and for the areas that aren’t close to a window you can use a faux plant or just move them back to the window during the day when you aren’t home.

Room Reveal

I remember the day pretty vividly going to look at the house we are currently living in before we had bought it – seeing it for the very first time and instantly falling in love. There were two parts of the house that stuck out to me the most – the master bathroom and the little rooms on the very top floor of the house with the slanted ceilings. The rooms are identical – one is at the back of the house and one is at the front of the house, just down the hall from eachother. I pictured having one room for my husband to turn into an office and then the other room for myself to make my own little pink sanctuary for an office space, photoshooting and getting ready in the morning. I had this room decorated before we had even bought the house and envisioned adding a beautiful wallpaper. Since we moved into the house the same year that we were getting married, it’s taken a while to get around to decorating. I finally tackled this room and I’m so happy with the final result! Can’t wait to show you all.

Since 90% of my home decor is from Homesense, I figured they would make an amazing partner for this room reveal! I was able to get everything I needed at amazing prices (each item was under $180!).

Most of the items you see in this room are from Homesense. The rug is perfect and incredibly soft – exactly what I had in mind. I am in love with these powder blue chairs and pink throw pillows. The silver table, lamp and faux flowers turned out so great together. This standing full length mirror is also a jewelry holder inside! I am also in love with these black/white storage bins! I was looking for some extra storage for this room since the closet is quite small and these were a great option. The “but first makeup” art, jewelry holder, plant holders, pink mirror, stool and pink faux fur throw are also Homesense finds!

The slanted ceilings were screaming for some wallpaper. I’ve had my eye on this black/white floral wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decals since we moved in. It DID NOT disappoint. It turned out so beautifully and looks so luxe! I only needed 4 rolls to complete the wall and it was so easy to put up. My mom came over to assist and it took us no time at all. The wallpaper is removable and just sticks on the wall. You then use the little smoother gadget they provide to smooth out any air bubbles. I plan on ordering some wallpaper for my powder room and laundry room and I would definitely use Rocky Mountain Decals again!

It’s always been a dream of mine to have a makeup vanity that I could sit at each morning to get ready and the fact that I now have one makes me so happy! I’m all about the simple pleasures in life. I love going up there each morning, turning on a podcast and taking some time to myself to do my makeup/hair. It’s such a peaceful way to start the day.

I’ve been trying to find a special spot for this Minted wall art! I love this piece so much – the colours are perfection in this room!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my little room reveal! I’m excited to post more home decor content because it looks like you guys enjoy it as much as I do. Stay tuned!

Prince Edward County Travel Diary

I’ve been to Prince Edward County a few times now and every time I’ve had such an amazing time! I’m now trying to make it a yearly trip. I wanted to put together a bit of a travel diary in case any of you plan on going for the first time – It’s always nice to have some recommendations! I highly recommend this as an amazing place for a girls weekend getaway – or for anyone that loves wine. Will give you the details of our trip below and all of the places you MUST check out if you are in PEC. Happy Travels!

We left Friday from Toronto around 1:00pm. I recommend leaving before 5pm if you can to avoid the crazy traffic! Our first stop was Drake Devonshire. We walked around the little town/shops near the Drake and went across to the new Drake Motor Inn, which is super cute. There’s also a brewery right beside the Motor Inn if you want to pop in for a drink before dinner. We then had dinner at Drake Devonshire and spent the evening having cocktails on the beautiful patio on the water. They have hanging lights and give you big cozy blankets to keep you warm when the sun goes down – it’s perfection! Also, the cocktails are DELICIOUS. Definitely make dinner reservations far in advance though because it books up quickly on weekends throughout the summer. They also have a great brunch!

You have to see the straps on this pink dress that I’m wearing in the above pics. It’s the cutest! I’m wearing a size S/M.

On Saturday, we woke up and went to Vic Cafe in Picton for breakfast. This is my favourite breakfast in PEC. They had my heart at tater tots! They also moved and newly renovated – it is all kinds of Insta-worthy now. You will want to take photos of everything from the booths to the ceiling to the adorable wallpaper and even the bathrooms! They have adorable with PINK TOILETS!! I have major toilet envy, which I didn’t know was a thing. Where can I find these vintage-looking toilets? Seriously.

This pink top is linked HERE. I’m wearing a size S. I am also so in love with this pearl hair clip linked HERE. You can use my code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80!

After breakfast, we drove to Closson Road Cycles to pick up our bikes. Be sure to rent your bikes in advance. The family that owns Closson Road Cycles is so incredibly lovely! You will be in good hands. I never really get a chance to ride bikes with living in Toronto – I find it way too scary, so I really enjoy riding bikes to all of the wineries. It’s my favourite part of the whole trip. It was lilac season when we were there and the amount of lilacs and the delicious perfumed smells coming from the massive bunches of lilac trees was seriously incredible.

Closson Road is perfect for biking because it’s a very short trip between each winery and there’s about 5-7 wineries close by to pop into. There’s also the alpaca farm which is the CUTEST and the lavender field. I have an obsession with lavender so I love popping in here.

This ADORABLE polka-dot tank is linked HERE (I’m wearing a size S) and it’s only $6! Use code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80!

Definitely stop by The Grange winery for a picnic out back. They pack you a little picnic basket fill of wine, cheese, pickles, bread and popcorn. It’s another one of the highlights for me – they have picnic tables out back amongst all of the chickens running around which are quite entertaining.

I would then recommend either Norman Hardie or County Cider Company for wood fire pizza. County Cider has Gluten Free pizza for all of my fellow Celiacs 🙂

There’s a small group of great hotels in PEC and so many amazing Air BNB’s. We stayed in a cottage on the water this time and it was so lovely. We had fires every night and took advantage of the DVD player with so many old movies to watch at night. It was perfection.

Sunday morning we ate breakfast the Picton Harbour Inn and walked around to the shops a bit and down by the water.

This white dress is so cute and serious nautical vibes. Linked HERE. I love it. I’m wearing a size M – it’s a little snug around the top, I could prob have done a L.

And of course, no trip to PEC is complete without a trip to the June Motel! Whether you stay there or just pop in for some Rosé, it’s a must!

This dress has quickly become one of the most favourite dress I have ever worn. It’s so flattering and the details of the bow straps with the tassels is so stinkin’ cute. Also, the colours are amazing. I am so in love! Dress linked HERE. I’m wearing a size M.

I also can’t say enough about this new straw bag from Poppy & Peonies. Perfect for carrying around in the summer or using as a beach bag! It’s seriously perfection. The inside liner is pink and the pink tassel on the front is so pretty.

Have to share this little Dalmatian print dress. I’ve been searching for a Dalmatian print dress or top for so long now and finally got this one! I love it so much, especially with a cute little jean jacket thrown over it. It works for so many occasions, dressed up or dressed down. Link to dress HERE. I’m wearing a size M. Use code 3pinkthe10 for extra 10% off purchases over $80! This little hot pink bag is Poppy & Peonies. Similar bag HERE.

Other places to visit in the County, not pictured above:

Sand Banks Beach – There’s actually a nice, big beach in PEC at Sand Banks National Post and if the weather it’s nice it’s definitely worth a visit!

Lake on the Mountain – A really pretty view to stop for lunch

Sailing – there are some boat companies in PEC that will take you out sailing. It’s so beautiful on the water there, I highly recommend if you like to be out on the water!
